Have you ever walked down your street, the same street that you've walked a thousand times before and looked with fresh eyes? To see some random building, that tree, a person, a plant, a bit of light and seen its transience? In this collection I have attempted to do just that.
My medium of photography is perfectly suited to this task. I hope that you will agree.
These are mundane places. They are regular things, everyday people. There is no exotic location here, no models, no rarefied goods. But they are all fleetingly beautiful, or at least I believe them to be.
At its core a photograph is a breath of time. Our reality is ever changing and we are often numb to this. We think we never change, our lives static. When I first started in this medium I found this concept comforting, that we are somewhat concrete in nature.
As I progressed on my path I found myself noticing the ever subtle shifts around me. We are beings that are ever changing, any permanency is an illusion.
Through the use of artistic processes and quirky lenses I have attempted to move a captured, static moment back into the living breath of time. Each image is a moment surrounded by moments and I have endeavored to portray this.

"I bet it's Photoshop"
No, it's not Photoshop or Affinity or any other program. I do post-edit (have to, when working raw) but most of the fun is done in camera.
Weird, quirky lenses are the key. Lensbabies, Helios 44, odd little retro-fitted manual lenses never meant to sit on a camera, Russian lenses that might be radioactive... these are some of my favorite tools.
The bodies aren't as important.
Programs used are old Photoshop as a shell to run Nik. Nik is great. It's also free.
